If Marie-Laure was not blind, how do you think the story would have been different? Would it have stayed the same?

I think that a lot of Marie-Laure's personality is a result of her blindness. She's very curious because she wants to be able to understand the world despite her disability but she is also extremely reliant on the people around her. If she wasn't blind she would be far more independent but she might be less curious. Also, if she wasn't blind she probably would have been able to escape with Etienne and she would never have met Werner.

If Marie-Laure was not blind, the story would have stayed the same in the situations she faced, but how she reacted to those situations is what would have changed the most. Marie-Laure's personality would have been different if not affected by being blind. She probably would have had more friends and traveled to more distant places. When she was stuck in the attic with the German living beneath her, she probably would have been able to bring up more food and water and have been able to gotten out of there quicker. The little things in life would have been easier and she would not have had to be so dependent on others.

If Marie-Laure was not blind, then the story would be far different. She would not read the braile book, which was what Werner used to find her, and thus the story would have ended quite differently.
