If Werner had not died and wasn't sick what do you think he would have done? Would he have gone back to Jutta, and if so would he have been able to find her? Would Werner try to find Marie-Laure or would he have forgotten about her or not even try to find her. Also, what about Volkheimer, would Werner try to find all three people?

I think that Werner would have tried to find Marie-Laure if he had not died. I think so because Marie-Laure inspired him to do what he thought was right instead of what he was ordered to do. Specifically, Werner did not report her radio broadcasts. Since Marie-Laure inspired Werner to protect her, he would probably want to see her again.

I like to think that Werner would try to find Marie-Laure and Jutta. As soon as Werner left his home, and said goodbye to Frau Elena and Jutta he had what seems like guilt and fond memories from his home. Werner talked about how he was amazed by Jutta, and how she always knew to do the right thing. When he met Marie-Laure she brought those distant memories he had of Jutta upfront. He helped save someone. Once he did this he probably felt that he lived up to what Jutta had seen in him. If he had lived, I think he would try to find both of them as soon as possible. He had a bond with Marie-Laure in the short time he knew her, and I like to think he would want to see his sister again.

I agree with Brianna and Eric and their insights on Marie-Laure and Jutta are just what I thought. However, on the subject of Volkheimer, Werner may have chosen the opposite. They went through a lot together and even created a pretty special bond, but when it comes to who Werner would find first or at all, Volkheimer may have been forgotten. This was one of the more unknown relationships that was lost when Werner died. We know Volkheimer was grief-stricken since he went through all that effort to return Werner's things to Jutta. Seeing this big, boulder of a man who was thought to have cared about no one, feel this way was incredibly sad but really showed us the other side of Volkheimer. It would have been amazing if him and Werner could have reunited.

I think his first priority would have been Marie-Laure. He had been absent from Jutta for quite some time, she wouldn't be an immediate necessity. However, reasonably quickly there after he would have tried to find her. As soon as he was able I believe he would have tried to find Marie-Laure, for his interest in her had peaked and he wanted to be with her, or at least make sure she had made it to safety to give himself some piece of mind. Volkheimer I think would have came back into Werner's life. For he had been Werner's best friend for the most vulnerable times in both their lives, and seeing each other after the war would have helped both parties in the healing process from what they had experienced.
