When Madame Manec dies Marie continues to buy the marked bread that contained the numbers and messages to be read on the radio. When she started this she claimed it was because she thought it was the right thing to do, but was it foolish for her to resume this act? What could have happened to her if she had been caught during one of her trips?

It was definitely more dangerous for Marie-Laure to continue to carry the messages after Madame Manec had died but I think she felt an obligation to continue the work after Madame Manec had passed because it was the right thing to do. Maybe it wasn't the smartest thing for her safety but she stuck to what she thought was most honorable, the same way Madame Manec had done.

Marie took many risk during the novel, some would have lead to more severe consequences than others. One of the more serious risks that Marie took included carrying the messages in the bread that contained the illegal codes. The reason that Marie continued to complete this task was because she honestly believed it was the right thing to do. Marie was always the type of person who stayed true to what she believed. If Marie was to get caught on one of her missions the consequences would have been very severe. Not only would Marie be punished, everyone else involved in the plan would have also received punishment. Although the plan was incredibly dangerous Marie did what she felt was the right thing to do.

It was certainly more risky for Marie-Laure to continue retrieving the bread even after Mamdame Manec's passing. If she had been caught, it is highly possible that both her and Etienne would have been killed on the spot. Just as Werner was tracking illegal radio broadcasts, and those working with him would kill those in the house where the broadcasts were being operated, if a soldier found what was in Marie-Laure's bread, and where she was going, it is more than likely that everyone within the operation would be killed.

Marie-Laure took a big risk continuing to retrieve the notes in the bread and navigate the streets with nothing but her cane and memory. Although she carried out her ideas of "what is right" Etienne was constantly worried about her going out alone because she could've gotten caught. However, when Marie-Laure was stopped and questioned by Von Rumpel she was clever enough to hide the paper (in case he found it) by eating the note. Therefore, Marie-Laure was able to take care of herself without getting caught because of her quick thinking. As an effect of this, Etienne regretted ever letting Marie go out on her own and said he would collect the notes from now on.

Continuing the messages was very dangerous for Marie especially in her case but she took so many risks in life that i do not believe it would have caused her harm. She believed it was a legacy and the right thing to do so she went along with it. It was an overall dangerous plot but the correct circumstance to contribute to so i do believe it was a good thing Marie-Laure stuck to herself and what she knew could help her along the way.
