Marie and Werner met in Saint-Malo, which Marie's life. A series of events could have changed their outcome, or they could have never met at all. Did Marie and Werner meet because of fate or was it a random coincidence that their lives crossed paths?

Werner and Marie-Laure's meeting seemed like destiny and very well could have been. From a logical standpoint their meeting was probably coincidental. I would've liked to believe it was fate that brought them together, but reasonably, it was just coincidence.
