Words are a common theme explored in The Book Thief. The author uses the book "The Word Shaker" written by Max to explain the power of words, you can arrange ugly words in such a way that people can believe your message even though it may not be the right message. Max then goes to explain how Hitler used words to gain power "He invited his people toward his own glorious heart, beckoning them with his finest, ugliest words, handpicked from his forests. And people came." (Zusak 445). As the author develop throughout the book Hitler's word caused lots of pain and tragedy. How do people in today's world use the power of words to make others believe a message? How do politicians use them? How do protesters use them?
