After reading the novels, I found that a couple literary devices were used quite often throughout both books. Foreshadowing is one, foreshadowing is almost brought to life from Death's point of view in The Book Thief. In All the Light we Cannot See, many connections are made from the beginning to the end of the novel, lose ends are tied with foreshadowing. An example of this is how Werner was inspired by the broadcast from Marie-Laure's uncle. This foreshadowed that the two had some connections from the beginning. Another literary device is symbolism. Symbolism is scattered all over each novel as representations. Are there any other devices that are commonly shared between the two novels?

Even though both books were very different I think they had almost the same theme. The world around the characters in both books kept trying to change them and get them to conform. Also they were faced with challenges that they fought through.
