Death was telling a very very sad story that belonged to Liesel. Among the loss and misfortunes they throw out something that almost makes you want to laugh.On page page 26 Zusak writes, "Whoever named Himmel street certainly had a healthy sense of irony. Not that it was a living hell. It wasn’t. But it sure as hell wasn’t heaven either.” Death actually tries to help make the story easier to read.
